Beekman 1802 Almanac Winter Issue 2018
Each edition of the Almanac focuses on a theme and for 2018, it is all about the five senses. For the final issue of this year, we focused on the sense of sound. The sound of jingle bells, unwrapping gifts and the almost complete absence of sound when snow falls in the forest.
The Almanac was inspired by a copy of the Farmer’s Almanac from the year 1802 that we found on eBay. In the margins, the owner had scribbled everything from the number of eggs obtained each day to the birth of a child—as if they were all of equal importance.
